JobNotes Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the JobNotes Android application (app ID: com.followmyapp.jobapp), developed by Squicker Corp. It describes how the application handles your data and what third-party services are used.

Data You Enter in the App

JobNotes allows you to record information about your job search, including:

Company names, job titles, and locations
Application statuses and personal notes
Recruiter and contact information
Interview dates and follow-up reminders

All of this data is stored exclusively on your device. JobNotes does not transmit any of your personal data to any server. The only exception is the optional AI-powered company insights feature, described below — which only ever receives a company name, never your personal information. The only other outbound network activity is ad loading via the Google AdMob SDK.

✦ AI-Powered Company Insights

JobNotes includes an optional feature that retrieves publicly available information about companies — sector, founding year, headcount, summary, and key facts — to help you prepare for interviews. When you activate this feature, only the company name is transmitted to our secure API. No personal data is ever shared: not your job title, notes, application status, or contact information.

This feature is powered by Claude, an AI assistant developed by Anthropic. AI-generated content is based on publicly available data and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated — artificial intelligence can produce errors or hallucinations. We strongly recommend verifying any critical information through official company sources before an interview.

A monthly usage quota applies per device. Our servers do not store any personal data or identifiable information. No query history is retained.

App Permissions

JobNotes requests the following Android permissions:

Internet — required to display ads via Google AdMob.
Access Network State — used to check network availability before loading ads.
Ad ID (com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID) — used by Google AdMob to serve personalized or non-personalized ads based on your consent.

The application does not request access to your camera, microphone, location, contacts, or device storage.

Advertising — Google AdMob

We keep JobNotes free by displaying ads provided by Google AdMob. In compliance with the EU ePrivacy Directive and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), users in the EU and UK are shown a consent dialog on first launch and can choose whether ads are personalized or non-personalized. This consent can be updated at any time in the app settings.

Personalized ads use advertising identifiers to display ads more relevant to you.
Non-personalized ads do not use advertising identifiers for targeting, but may still use them for frequency capping, aggregated reporting, and fraud prevention.

As per the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA/CCPA), users in California will only see non-personalized ads.

Data Collected by Google AdMob

The Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect the following data independently:

User interaction data: app launches, taps, video views
IP address (used to estimate general location)
Android Advertising ID and other device identifiers
App and SDK performance data: crash logs, launch time, energy usage

The Android Advertising ID can be reset or permanently deleted in your Android system settings under Privacy > Ads.

Partner Privacy Policies

Intended Audience

JobNotes is designed for adults actively searching for employment. The application is not intended for children or minors. That said, the app itself presents no inherent risk — it contains no harmful content, collects no personal data, and has no social or communication features. The only element outside our direct control is the advertising served by Google AdMob, which operates under its own policies and consent framework. Ads displayed in the app are generally related to job searching and employment, in line with the app's purpose.

Opt-Out Rights & Data Deletion

You have several options to stop data collection or request deletion, depending on what data you want to remove:

Delete your in-app data — Uninstall JobNotes using the standard process on your device or via the Google Play Store. All data you entered (applications, notes, contacts) is stored locally and will be permanently deleted upon uninstallation.
Reset or delete your Android Advertising ID — Go to Settings > Privacy > Ads on your Android device. You can reset your Advertising ID (which cuts the link with past ad history) or delete it entirely (which prevents any ad targeting based on your device).
Request deletion of data collected by Google AdMob — Google provides a dedicated tool to manage and delete data associated with your account or device: myaccount.google.com/data-and-privacy. You can also submit a data deletion request directly via Google's support page.
Opt out of personalized ads globally — Visit adssettings.google.com to review and control how Google uses your data for ad personalization across all services.

Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
